Great Ashley Farm is owned and run by us, The Rawlings Family. We run a small private equestrian livery yard from the farm and it’s also home to The Great Ashley Herd of Sussex Cattle. Beyond the garden, horse paddocks surround the B&B and a little further afield you will find the cows. Guests are always welcome to bring their wellies and walk across the fields to see the cows or just pop over to the stable yard and say hello to the horses.

We have such a myriad of National Trust properties near to us we are spoilt for choice. The Courts at Holt, Great Chalfield Manor, Avebury Manor, Lacock Abbey, The Fox Talbot Museum & Village, Prior Park, Dyrham Park, Westwood Manor and not forgetting Stourhead – some of these are in neighboring villages.
Wiltshire is home to a diverse range of fascinating and beautiful attractions in stunning rural surroundings. It’s easily accessible from the M3, M4 and M5 motorways and has the World Heritage site of Bath on its doorstep. Wiltshire combines excellent transport links with picture-perfect locations to provide a taste of country living at its best.

The lovely unspoilt landscape that surrounds the farm is a haven for wildlife with hare, deer, pheasants, sparrow hawks, wild ducks, moorhens & partridge being frequent visitors. The house is surrounded by woodland which is home to so many birds, you will often hear the Woodpecker at work. Horses graze the fields around the house with cattle beyond. It’s hard to believe that within 15 minutes you can be in the World Heritage City of Bath or 10 minutes the Saxon town of Bradford on Avon.
Just down the lane is Cumberwell Park Golf Club – Wiltshire’s only 36 hole golf course, clubhouse starting points for all four 9 hole courses, so we’re perfect for quality golf holidays.
If you enjoy cycling we have a secure cycle lock up with plenty of literature and maps covering cycle routes in the area, bikes can be hired from TT Cycles in Bradford-on-Avon which is located just by the lock – the perfect place to join The beautiful Kennet and Avon Canal.
The farm is surrounded by footpaths and there are some stunning walks in the area, in fact too many to list. We do hold plenty of walking literature.
