The Saxon town of Bradford-on-Avon less than 2 miles away with the Kennet and Avon canal running through it, its Tithe Barn, Saxon Church, lovely quaint shops, cobbled streets and great places to eat! The beautiful village of Castle Combe is a 30 minute drive from us and known to be one of the most quintessential villages in the UK – also famed for the filming of the original Dr. Dolittle with Rex Harrison and the more recent filming of War Horse.
We have endless NT Properties, Great Chalfield Manor, The Courts at Holt and Lacock Abbey (famed for the filming of Pride and Prejudice) and Westwood Manor. We are very fortunate to be on the edge of The Cotswolds and in the opposite direction is Stonehenge, Salisbury, Longleat, Glastonbury and Wells with it’s magnificent Cathedral.
Visit Caen Hill locks at Devizes, look out for the drays delivering the Wadsworth beer around the town, onwards to Avebury, Marlborough and through Savernake Forest to Hungerford.
We can accommodate Bikes and we have a great boot store for walkers – plenty of maps aswell!!
