Access statement

Our self catering cottage is a detached barn conversion built in approximately 1800 with access to the front a side of property. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please call. We look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-arrival

We have a website and are also listed on Visitbath, Farmstay UK, Visitwiltshire and Wiltshire Farmstay .

  • Bookings/Enquiries can be made via email or telephone.
  • The nearest bus stop is in the village of Winsley which is a 20 minutes walk from the property
  • The nearest rail station is in the town of Bradford-on-Avon which is 1.9 miles away, there are taxis at the station and the no. X4 bus travels from thetown centre to the village of Winsley
  • Guests are welcome to arrange for their shopping to be delivered direct to the premises
  • The Premises Operates A Non Smoking Policy

Arrival & car parking facilities

  • Arrival at Great Ashley Farm Cottage is requested after 4.00pm
  • A key is left for guests arrival and details are sent of this once the final balance has been paid along with a map and directions
  • The cottage is located at the end of a gravel drive with parking at the front. There is parking for several cars.
  • The entrance at the front is gravelled with four patio slabs leading to the front door. There is a lip of 3.5cm deep from the gravel to the patio slabs. The slabs measure 250cm x 250cm
  • The front door is hinged on the right hand side and is 82 cm wide. There is a weather board of 5cm across the length of the threshold of the door.
  • To the side of the of the premises is a small patio area measuring 363.33 cm x 231.14cm with a lip of 3.5cm leading on to the gravelled drive

Entrance leading to open plan kitchen/sitting room

The front door leads directly into the kitchen/sitting room.

  • Worktop height 93cm and depth of 60cm
  • Fitted Single Oven with door opening down, height of lowest shelf is 38cm. There is an overhead convector fan
  • Single Drainer Sink is 93cm high with mixer tap
  • Hob height is 93cm
  • Fitted integral dishwasher with door opening down, height of lowest shelf is 25cm.
  • Oval shaped table provided with legs on each corner 63cm to the lowest point (underspace), 134cm long and 79cm high.

  • Flooring is ceramic tiles
  • French Doors (width 136cm) leading to patio
  • There are two moveable sofa’s and a moveable occasional table
  • Flatscreen FreeView Digital TV/DVD is provided with a remote control

Utility area and first floor

  • There is no separate laundry but leading from the Kitchen area through a fire check door (Width 68cm) is a utility area and stairs leading to the first floor
    Larder fridge / freezer available, highest shelf in fridge 60cm and lowest shelf in freezer 97cm.Front loading standard size washing machine available
  • Ironing board with varying heights and steam iron
  • First floor is reached via a staircase of 9 steps 20cm high x 24 cm deep x 82cm wide with landing 84cm x 102cm and 2 further steps 20cm high x 24 cm deep x 73cm wide to the right hand side leading to a landing 122cm wide x 200cm long.
  • From the landing there is a corridor to the left hand side (85cm x 236 cm long) leading to a double bedroom – door width 66cm and a corridor to the right hand side (99cm x 60cm) leading to a twin bedded room

  • Total space possible between beds (where beds are on opposite walls) is 62cm
  • Free space clear of doors or furniture is 94 cm

Grounds and gardens

  • The cottage is located at the end of a gravel drive with parking at the front. There is parking for several cars.
  • The grounds are gravelled with four patio slabs leading to the front door.
  • To the side of the premises is a small patio area with picnic bench and bar-b-cue.
  • There is a washing line with pegs and behind is a tall wooden close board gate leading to the equestrian yard. This is marked private for safety reasons.
