Great Ashley Farm offers luxury farmhouse accommodation set in two acres of gardens and woodland abundant with wildlife overlooking a large natural pond on a working farm with beef cows and horses perfectly located just 6 miles from the World Heritage Site of Bath and less than 2 miles from the Saxon town of Bradford-on-Avon and The Kennet & Avon Canal.
Great Ashley Farm is in a great location surrounded by National Trust properties, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Salisbury, Castle Combe, Lacock, Longleat & The Cotswolds are all within easy reach. Both Helen and Alex are Bradfordians so their knowledge of the area is extensive. They are always happy to help with local information including transport and some of the great places to eat in the area.
At Great Ashley Farm we offer two delightful self contained spacious bedroom suites, each room has been carefully coordinated to create a comfortable, welcoming, stylish feel & provide all the modern day amenities including modern en-suite shower rooms, super kingsize beds with quality pocket sprung mattresses (can be arranged as twin beds) crisp white linen, flat screen tv, well stocked hospitality trays, fridges, iron and iron boards. Parking is plentiful & wifi is free of charge.
Our Wiltshire breakfast is taken around the dining table in the charming farmhouse dining room overlooking gardens and woodland where you can often watch deer, pheasants, squirrels and the odd hare. Church Farm Meats supply our bacon and sausages, Home Farm, South Wraxall supply our delicious organic eggs – their eggs make the most amazing scrambled eggs …..Everything is freshly cooked to order using our traditional Aga. We offer delicious bread and preserves are from Rose Farm in Wedmore, Somerset. If you like fruit in the mornings then why not try one of our fruit compote and creamy yoghurt, there are plenty of cereals, muesli and granola to choose from. Locally sourced produce is used where possible and dietary needs can be catered for with advance notice – What better way to start the day.
For dinner you may wish to stroll across the field to our local pub ‘The Dog and Fox’ serving food Wednesday – Sunday Lunch or our neighbouring village of Winsley has a 17th century village pub, The Seven Stars, with an extensive menu and was runner up in The Bath Life Pub Awards 2009. Bradford-on-Avon is within easy reach and has some excellent pubs and restaurants. A comprehensive list can be found in each guest room.
Comfortable, stylish, rooms
Choose from two bedroom suites, each of which has style, comfort and sophistication. Both suites benefit from their own private entrance and may also be used as twin rooms. One room is upstairs and one room is on the ground floor.
Rooms have extensive information wallets advising on places to eat along with places to visit. Tourist information is plentiful also.
