We very much look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful B&B set in the peaceful Wiltshire countryside near Bradford-on-Avon, The Cotswolds and K&A Canal, surrounded by woodland & fields offering the perfect place to relax, unwind & recharge. 

Less than two miles from the stunning Saxon town of Bradford-on-Avon & The Kennet & Avon Canal and 20 minutes drive from Bath you will find Great Ashley Farm.  A charming B&B set in a beautiful peaceful location providing  guests with a fusion of ‘Town and Country’ life. A perfect base for guests  wishing to explore Wiltshire, Longleat, Bath, Bristol, The Cotswolds, Wells and beyond .

Great Ashley Farm is a working farm with a herd of Sussex Cattle, a small flock of Oxford Down sheep  and a yard with Thoroughbred horses. Our charming farmhouse overlooks a large natural pond and is set in extensive grounds and woodland, abundant with wildlife. Deer are often seen roaming through the gardens and paddocks.

 Our beautiful guest bedroom suites benefit from their own private access and are adjacent to the farmhouse, guests have a choice of two super king size bedrooms.  Rooms may also be arranged as twins or for single use.  One of our guest rooms is on the ground floor which is ideal for less mobile guests.The room are very well appointed and have many thoughtful touches, attention to detail is at the heart of what guests are provided with during their stay.

All rooms are en-suite with power showers, all have full central heating, quality pocket sprung mattresses, crisp white linen, flat screen tv’s, tea & coffee making facilities, chiller fridges, iron and iron boards. Free wifi is available and there is plenty of parking.

Please don’t think that its all about The World Heritage City of Bath, Great Ashley Farm is in a fabulous location surrounded by National Trust properties, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Salisbury, Castle Combe, Lacock, MOD Corsham, Longleat & The Cotswolds are all very accessible. Both Helen and Alex are Bradfordians so their knowledge of the area is extensive. They are always happy to help with local information including transport and some of the great places to eat in the area.

Great Ashley Farm breakfastOur Wiltshire breakfast is taken around the dining table in the farmhouse  overlooking gardens and woodland where you can often watch deer, pheasants, squirrels and the odd hare.  Bacon and sausages are bought locally & Home Farm, South Wraxall supply our delicious organic eggs – their eggs make the most amazing scrambled eggs ….. We offer delicious bread and preserves are from Rose Farm in Wedmore, Somerset. If you like fruit in the mornings then why not try one of  our fruit compote and creamy yoghurt, there are plenty of cereals, muesli and granola to choose from & individual diets can be catered for.


For dinner you may wish to stroll across the field to our local pub ‘The Dog and Fox’ serving food Wednesday – Sunday Lunch or our neighbouring village of Winsley has a 17th century village pub, The Seven Stars, with an extensive menu and was runner up in The Bath Life Pub Awards. Bradford-on-Avon is within easy reach and has some excellent pubs and restaurants. A comprehensive list can be found in each guest room.

World famous sites on our doorstep…

Visit the beautiful Georgian City of Bath with it’s famous Thermae Spa, The Cotswolds, Longleat, visit the ancient and mysterious Neolithic Stonehenge and Avebury, Castle Combe one of the most quintessential villages in England. Glastonbury & England’s smallest cathedral city Wells are also within easy reach.

We have such a myriad of National Trust properties near to us we are spoilt for choice. The Courts at Holt, Great Chalfield Manor, Avebury Manor, Lacock Abbey, The Fox Talbot Museum & Village, Prior Park, Dyrham Park,  Westwood Manor  and not forgetting Stourhead – some of these are in neighboring villages.

Wiltshire is home to a diverse range of fascinating and beautiful attractions in stunning rural surroundings. It’s easily accessible from the M3, M4 and M5 motorways and has the World Heritage site of Bath on its doorstep.  Wiltshire combines excellent transport links with picture-perfect locations to provide a taste of country living at its best.

Great Ashley Farm really is a great base for exploring, touring or just relaxing and soaking up the lovely peaceful surroundings.

At Great Ashley Farm we are delighted to offer a choice of either award winning B&B in our elegant farmhouse, each room with it’s own front door set in lovely gardens and overlooking a large natural pond, or self catering in our beautifully converted farm building situated on edge of Great Ashley Farm and reach by it’s own private driveway off of a quiet country lane offering total independence.

Enjoy a little bit of country life……

The lovely unspoilt landscape that surrounds the farm is a haven for wildlife with hare, deer, pheasants, sparrow hawks, wild ducks, moorhens & partridge being frequent visitors. The house is surrounded by woodland which is home to so many birds, you will often hear the Woodpecker at work.  Horses graze the fields around the house with cattle beyond.  It’s hard to believe that within 15 minutes you can be in the World Heritage City of Bath or 10 minutes the Saxon town of Bradford on Avon.

Just down the lane is Cumberwell Park Golf Club – Wiltshire’s only 36 hole golf course, clubhouse starting points for all four 9 hole courses, so we’re perfect for quality golf holidays.

If you enjoy cycling we have a secure cycle lock up with plenty of literature and maps covering cycle routes in the area, bikes can be hired from TT Cycles in Bradford-on-Avon which is located just by the lock – the perfect place to join The beautiful Kennet and Avon Canal.

The farm is surrounded by footpaths and there are some stunning walks in the area, in fact too many to list.  We do hold plenty of walking literature.

This is a great location for touring & exploring, cycling & walking, golfing or just relaxing. You won’t be disappointed!
